  • 1/4 cup whole milk
  • 1/4 cup brown sugar
  • 1 tablespoon ground cinnamon
  • 1/4 cup unsalted butter, melted
  • 1/2 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 tablespoon milk
  • 1/2 teaspoon vanilla extract

Instructions

  1. Preheat your oven to 350°F (175°C) and line a muffin tin with cupcake liners.
  2. In a medium bowl, whisk together flour, baking powder, baking soda, cinnamon, and salt.
  3. In a larger bowl, cream softened butter and granulated sugar until light and fluffy. Add eggs one at a time, mixing well after each addition. Stir in vanilla.
  4. Gradually combine dry ingredients with the butter mixture, alternating with sour cream until smooth.
  5. For the cinnamon swirl, mix brown sugar with cinnamon and melted butter to form a paste.
  6. Fill each cupcake liner with batter, add cinnamon mixture on top, swirl gently, then fill again until two-thirds full.
  7. Bake for 18–22 minutes or until a toothpick comes out clean. Allow cooling before glazing.
