  • 1 lb ground beef (80/20)
  • 1 small onion, diced
  • 3 garlic cloves, minced
  • 1 cup crispy cooked turkey bacon, crumbled
  • 1 jar (24 oz) marinara sauce
  • 12 lasagna noodles, cooked al dente
  • 2 cups shredded mozzarella
  • 3 tbsp unsalted butter
  • 3 tbsp all-purpose flour
  • 2 cups whole milk
  • 1 cup grated Parmesan cheese
  • 2 tsp garlic powder
  • 1 tsp Italian seasoning
  • ½ tsp smoked paprika
  • Salt & pepper to taste
  • ½ cup grated Parmesan (for topping)
  • 2 tbsp chopped fresh parsley (optional)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the meat sauce: In a large skillet, cook the ground beef until browned. Add onion and sauté until soft, about 4–5 minutes. Stir in garlic and cook for another minute. Add marinara sauce, crumbled turkey bacon, Italian seasoning, smoked paprika, salt, and pepper. Simmer for 10 minutes.
  2. Make the béchamel: In a saucepan over medium heat, melt butter. Whisk in flour; cook for 1–2 minutes. Gradually whisk in milk until thickened (about 5 minutes). Stir in Parmesan and garlic powder; season with salt and pepper.
  3. Assemble the lasagna: Preheat oven to 375°F (190°C). Spread a layer of meat sauce in a baking dish. Layer with lasagna noodles, béchamel sauce, mozzarella, and cheddar cheese. Repeat layers ending with cheese on top.
  4. Bake: Cover with foil; bake for 30 minutes. Remove foil; bake uncovered for an additional 15 minutes until bubbly and golden.
