  • 1 1/2 cups pie crust crumbs or cookie crumbs
  • 6 tablespoons melted butter
  • 1/2 cup chopped pecans
  • 1/2 cup brown sugar
  • 4 tablespoons butter
  • 8 ounces softened cream cheese
  • 1 cup powdered sugar
  • 1 teaspoon vanilla extract
  • 1 cup whipped topping (chilled)

Instructions

  1. Prepare the crust by mixing pie crust crumbs with melted butter and pressing it into the bottom of a 9×13 inch baking pan.
  2. In a saucepan, melt butter over medium heat, add brown sugar and chopped pecans, stirring until caramelized.
  3. Beat softened cream cheese with powdered sugar and vanilla until smooth, then fold in chilled whipped topping.
  4. Spread half of the cream cheese mixture over the cooled crust, layer with warm pecan mixture, then top with remaining cream cheese mixture.
  5. Refrigerate for at least 4 hours or overnight before serving.
